Sex Education season 3 filming status
It is official that another season is coming. Netflix confirmed the news in Feb 2020. According to Deadline, Sex Education Season 3 filming was about to commence in March 2020. However, like other TV shows, web series, and movies, the third season of Sex Education suffered a delay in filming due to lockdown.
Sex Education is a show that requires a large degree of close contact and intimacy. So, the production of the show was looking very unlikely during the pandemic. However, the filming resumed in September after a filming bubble was set up in the shooting location in Wales. On 9th September 2020, Netflix announced that the Sex Education season 3 is now officially in production.

He said, “It’s quite hard to keep the two-meter distance when you’re kissing someone or doing anything else. I’m sure that’s something they have realized. As well as that, when you’re on a set making film and TV, there are so many parts to this machine. It will make it incredibly difficult to enforce a rule around quarantine, but you have to because this virus is going to be around for ages. Luckily that’s not my job to figure those things out.”
The filming for the third season wrapped up in March 2021. Now that the filming has finished, the team will push hard on editing the show.
Sex Education Season 3 trailer
Just a month after the season 2 premiere, Netflix released Season 3 teaser on Feb 10, 2020. This pretty much tells how confident Netflix is about the show. The streaming giant marked the season 3 renewal announcement with a teaser trailer. The season 3 teaser is narrated by Alistair Petrie’s Principal Groff.
Sex Education Season 3 Plot & Storyline
In the upcoming season, the makers will dig deeper into the lives of characters. Like the previous two seasons, this third season will most probably have eight episodes as well. We are still waiting for the confirmation and trailer to find out more about the plot and characters. But we are sure the plot is going to be interesting this time too.
Season 3 will solve many mysteries that were unresolved in the previous season. Here’s what we can expect to see in the third season of Sex Education:
1) Will Otis and Maeve find love?
Otis and Maeve both love each other. By the end of the second season, Otis finally gathers the courage to admit his feelings to Maeve. He expressed his love on her voicemail. Maeve never got the chance to hear the voice mail as she was busy competing in the final of the School quiz competition. Isaac, the disabled boy, and Maeve’s neighbour delete the voicemail as he has feelings for her. It would be interesting to see how this plot unfolds in the third season.
2) Will Otis and Maeve continue to offer sexual advice to teens?
It won’t be easy for Otis to continue offering advice to his students, especially if Jeanm his mother returns to the school as a counsellor or teacher for sex education.
Other questions that need to be answered are Eric and Adam’s love, Lily and Ola’s relationship. Season 3 will focus more on broken relationships.
Sex Education Season 3 Release Date
Based on the release dates of the two previous seasons, we were expecting the third season to arrive in January 2021. The production got delayed by around 5-6 months due to COVID-19. Now that the filming has finished, and assuming that post-production requires around 3-4 months, expect season three to arrive in July or Aug 2021.

Will there be more seasons of Sex Education?
Fans can rejoice as the show creator Laurie Nunn told The Hollywood Reporter that she thinks Sex Education could run for several more seasons.
“I think I could do some more with them if we’re given the chance,” she said. “[Netflix] is very supportive and really want us to tell the stories that we feel passionate about. It really feels like we’re all on the same page, wanting to make the same show.”
Nevertheless, if you are a teenager like me you should definitely watch Netflix’s popular and amazing show about sex education which sadly India lacks behind in acknowledging. Stream the two seasons of Sex Education now on Netflix!!!
