Paramount+ has announced that the upcoming fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery will be its last. Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise, the series’ showrunners, said they are incredibly proud of the contribution Discovery has made to the legacy of Star Trek.
It also became known that the final will be released in early 2024, and not in 2023, as previously thought. The filming of the fifth part has been completed, but according to a source familiar with the situation, the team plans to conduct additional filming, the start date of which is still unknown.
The series tells the story of the war between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. In the center of the plot of the project, Starfleet Commander Michael Burnham and the crew of the Discovery ship, on whose shoulders lies the responsibility for peace in the galaxy.
