While Mortal Kombat will now release on April 23, 2021, The Croods: A New Age and Nobody have been delayed until further notice.
Amidst the rise in COVID cases in India, the theatrical release of several movies is now in a fix. Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi has been delayed indefinitely. Now, we hear the theatrical release of several Hollywood movies in India has also been pushed ahead. The upcoming martial arts fantasy film Mortal Kombat will now release on 23 April in India. Earlier it was scheduled to hit the theatres on 16 April.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s tweet, the film has been pushed ahead by one week in India and will release in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Well, the theatrical release on 23 April also looks uncertain as theatres and multiplexes in Maharashtra are closed and several states have imposed night curfew.
Mortal Kombat is inspired by the hit video game franchise of the same name created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. It stars star Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Chin Han, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.
Mortal Kombat chronicles the journey of MMA fighter Cole Young who is being hunted down by Sub-Zero of the Lin-Kuei clan of assassins. The film marks the debut of filmmaker Simon McQuoid. It is produced by James Wan who has primarily worked in the horror genre as the co-creator of the Saw and Insidious franchises and the creator of The Conjuring Universe.
Mortal Kombat will release in India on April 23, 2021, keeping in line with its release in the US. The film will simultaneously release on HBO Max.
The Indian release dates of Hollywood Nobody and The Croods: A New Age have also been postponed indefinitely due to rising COVID-19 cases. It was initially scheduled for Apr 9 release. The film distribution company Universal Pictures has announced the news on social media. The official Twitter account of Universal Pictures India tweeted:

Starring Bob Odenkirk and Connie Nielsen, Nobody is an action thriller directed by Ilya Naishuller. It was released in the United States on March 26, 2021.
Coming to The Croods: A New Age, the computer-animated comedy film is a sequel to The Croods which released in 2013. It was released in the United States on November 25, 2020, and received a positive response.
