Manju Warrier in custody, life in danger; Director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan with the revelation

Published

on

Director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan has revealed that actress Manju Warrier is in the custody of her managers Bineesh Chandran and Binu Nair and her life is in danger. Sanal Kumar Sasidharan says that he reveals this with a lot of responsibility and full awareness of the future. He also wrote on Facebook that all the respect he had for Manju Warrier was gone when he felt that he was a great artist under the rule of the manager.

Words by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan:

We had been together for about a month but the two of us had never even talked alone. Bineesh Chandran and Binu Nair, who came as their assistants and later became the executive producers of the film, have never met them together. All the line workers on the climb in the Himalayas were in tents. Manju Warrier, Bineesh Chandran and Binu Nair lived in a tent. I thought they would adjust so because it is a low cost movie.

Later, when Bineesh arranged for Feroz to do still photography for the film, the four of them stayed in a tent. He has not even spoken to Manju Warrier alone to discuss the scenes of the film. When the movie was over, I started to feel that there were attempts to stop it from coming out. I have shared that with Manju Warrier. They told me that attempts were being made to sell the film and that nothing was succeeding.

When I asked if the trailer of the movie could be released through AR Rahman’s page, they told me they were not happy with it. Interruptions started when I moved that forward. Manorama Music was sent an agreement to release all the songs of the movie including the trailer. Since AR Rahman had already agreed to release the trailer, I said that the trailer should be removed from the agreement.

Although he initially agreed with me, I noticed that Manju Warrier found it difficult to take a stand on the matter. The trailer was released by Rahman Sar himself but the agreement with Manorama Music was cold because I was so strict. Earlier, when Bineesh informed Manju Warrier that he wanted to sing the song ‘Istakko’, he went to Ernakulam and recorded it. All the files for the song had already been handed over to an editor arranged by Bineesh but it did not happen due to disputes over the trailer. When I inquired about this with Shaji Mathew, the producer of the film, he told me that Manju Warrier and her manager were looking into the matter.

The release was delayed and the plan was to release it on Onam 2020. When I suspected that the manager’s intervention was affecting the film with Manju Warrier’s tacit approval, I stopped talking to her. Later, after writing a script called “Theiyattam”, Manju Warrier approached them as he felt it was appropriate. They initially agreed and later withdrew. I had initially spoken to Bineesh Chandra to see if he could control the production of the film but I told him that I was not interested in working with him due to some inconveniences in his involvement.

Soon after, Manju Warrier also withdrew from the project. All the respect I had for them was gone when I got the feeling that Manju Warrier was a great artist under the rule of the manager. I went ahead with the movie Fight. In the meantime, they bought my right to climb. It helped me out of the big financial crisis. When the fight ended, Manju Warrier sent an unexpected message asking if he could watch the movie. I sent the link to the movie. After that we started talking again.

That’s how the idea of releasing the song ‘Istako’ came up again. But as things progressed in relation to the song’s release in August 2021, there were some unexpected setbacks. The first thing I said was that the file I sent was missing. A year ago I sent it to an editor hired by Bineesh to edit the movie’s hard disk song and trailer.

He said he had no songs or edited visuals. Music Director Ratheesh Kumar Raveendran called Ratheesh Eetillam and I organized the song files. I started editing the visuals for the song myself. Then a strange thing happened. Producer Shaji Mathew called Ratheesh without telling me and asked for the stem files of the song. Knowing that, my suspicion grew that I was trying to destroy the content of the song itself. I edited the visuals of the song and sent it directly to Manorama Music.

But by then I knew that the “producer’s people” had gotten there, asking me to change the content I was sending and upload another content. With that, my suspicion was confirmed. Istako will be released on 28/8/2021 with great difficulty. I left Kerala as I received some indications that an attempt was being made to endanger my life. When Istako was released I felt that they were experiencing some other conflicts from Manjuwari’s posts. I came to Kottayam in December 2021 to meet them in person as I did not get any reply when I contacted them on the phone. There they came to inaugurate a restaurant.

As usual, they were accompanied by Binu Nair and Bineesh Chandran. In addition, a group of “security guards” kept a fly away from them. When I asked Binu Nair to meet me and talk to Manju Warrier, he took me to Bineesh Chandran. Manju Warrier, who was with him, greeted me, but before saying anything, he said, “Let’s go out and talk, Chetta.”

The car sped off before saying anything. I felt like they were in a prison. The next morning Manju Warrier called me but I was not in the mood to talk. When I called later, they would not pick up the phone. I do not know what to do because the issues are so complex that I can not speak out. I called one or two of their friends and they talked but everyone responded helplessly.

I shared a short post on Instagram because I could not sit still when things looked different. The main thing was that I had “admiration” for them. Strange to say, the next morning someone called me saying I was the CI at Aroor station. He said that Manju Warrier had complained to him about my post. I found it incredible. I asked Manju Warrier why he should complain to him without any jurisdiction. He hung up the phone when he was told to move legally as the conversation, which started gently, later turned into a threat.

I later deleted the posts as Manju Warrier called me on the phone and asked. I have fallen in love with them. But do not assume that you are in love. I have a strong feeling that their lives are in danger. Rai Ramanam transferred the investigating officer shortly after Manju Warrier’s statement in connection with the murder conspiracy.

It seemed from the beginning that the case was not confined to one or two individuals. As the investigation enters its core, the government itself shamelessly subverts the investigation. I do not believe it will go any further. But given the circumstances, I strongly suspect that the lives of some people, including Manju Warrier, are in the balance. Posts previously deleted from Instagram and hidden on Facebook will be republished and links will be provided in the comments.
