If you ask me who is the best director to call a perfectionist in India today, the answer is no. It will be called Rajamouli. But he says it’s hard to make a movie better. He said he did not even know how to use the crane when he took the first film, Student Number One, and still did not know how to choose a good shot for himself.
Rajamouli was speaking to actor Anupam Kher at the Times Network Leadership Summit. People call him a perfectionist because it takes some time to complete a movie. But he is very different from that. Loves to make everything better. You will come close to excellence. But nothing can ever be perfect, he said.
There have been a number of incidents during filming that have not been accurately determined. A thousand things will go through your head. I do not know what is right. But there are directors among us who have a clear idea of what they want. Early in his career, he had an idea of how an actor should act in that role. It was only later that I realized that all the actors in my film were imitating what I was showing them. Rajamouli said that now acting classes are being organized before the shooting.
Rudhiram Ranam Roudram, directed by Rajamouli, hit theaters last March. Starring Ramcharan Teja, Jr. NTR, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt. The film was released in different languages and was a huge success in Kerala as well.
